4. VANILLA CAKE WITH CHOCOLATE ICING -- Fun-loving, sassy, humorous, not very grounded in life; very indecisive and lacking motivation. Everyone enjoys being around you, but you are a practical joker. Others should be cautious in making you mad. However, you are a friend for life.

5. STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE -- Romantic, warm, loving. You care about other people, can be counted on in a pinch and expect the same in return. Intuitively keen. enjoy watching sports. You don't like to give up the remote control. You tend to be self-centered and high maintenance.

What I'm watching...SLITHER..

Sorry folks...this is one of them thar REEL blogs that occasionally goes over to the DARK side..and it don't get one whit darker than this: The Movie SLITHER. This comes from my oldest 14 yo enthralled will zombies and gore ..the Weird needle like thing creates...a one mind conscious...old plot, new spin..
From the soundtrack:
BABY I love you but leave me the fuck alone.....
Well you know I said I'd love you for all time.
Well sometimes I just can't believe you're mine.
But every now and then
I'm ready to say when
Oh, baby I love you, just leave me the fuck alone.

Well in your arms is where I'll always stay
But something deep inside says not today
Well i'll be sitting here
working on this beer
Oh baby I love you, just leave me the fuck alone.

I try so hard each day
to make things go away
there's nothing left to say for tonight

For a couple of days I won't be comming round
I'm going to go get lost, I think I might skip town
Now I don't mean to pout
but you plain wore me out
Oh baby I love you, just leave me the fuck alone.

Oh, baby I love you, just leave me the fuck alone
I tried dancing, I just want to go home
I know your cooking's great
But dinner will have to wait
Oh, baby I love you, just leave me the fuck alone

Well I'm in a frazzled state
the party will have to wait
Oh, baby I love you, just leave me the fuck alone

Face book

The "beauty" of facebook...having people you don't care if you were ever in contact again contacting you....Like...a college date. "OH...Look who you find on the internet" he said...well yah..You can find GODZILLA too if you look hard enough.

NOT that he was Godzilla...I'm just saying. I was fresh off a breakup and thrilled to be back in University..he felt like he was a bad boy dating someone a year and a 1/2 older than him. He was from the big city...I was a "townee". This was me during that time:
We did the big whoopla one New Year's Eve..it was very pleasant..and one of the very first times ever that My ex fundamental Baptist self drank alcohol. yeah. I remember the bed spinning and things erupting..not so Christian that.

So..Godzilla...er...Rick has a beautiful child, and has been put in the position of being God Child to a roommates daughter (roommate died). We have been discussing how sometimes when the Hand of God chooses you to do something..you aren't equipped or ready or even WANT to do it.
I just think of that verse, "Hold my right hand and I will say to you, Be Not Afraid".

Car Wreck Deuce

My Dear Friend Denise...has a broken neck. Yes its true. She has walked the earth for years with a broken neck . this came out in "group" a couple years ago. Not in the counseling type group..the "group" of people sorting out the God thing group. They think she did it sledding as a kid
She is one of my fascinating friends.
anyway...She loses out in Michigan due to the economy...moves to North Carolina...New car...Some lady SMASHES it today...with no where for her to go. SMASH. Her neck? she crawled out of the window, yet couldn't go to The ER because it was 149 72 to go to the Emergency room and you have to pay RIGHT THEN.
Oh mmyyyyy Goadddddd don't get me started!!!! She STILL has a broken neck..the car wreck did no further damage at this time.

HOWEVER...her MEDS!! WALMART kept DOUBLING and TRIPLING what the doctor ordered!! It was bad. The Doctor didn't understand why it wasn't having any effect. She got an attorney...IT could have caused a HEART ATTACK!!!!

car wreck

Yah..here she is in all her splendor at the former owner's house. Before my husband smashed the front end out this summer. He ..was just distracted due to illness and KWAHHHM smashed into a lady. No police were called. Our car much worse off.

TODAY...I have 4 kids with me. I drop one off, go to where the van is getting detailed (PREMONITION MAYBE) say to my husband..ummmmm I"m driving these 2 kids without a Booster seat ---(Law here just changed to EIGHT YEARS OLD (ridiculous) OR 4"9"...Its Crazy!!The Older one was in front seat.
less than a MILE down the road...KAAAAAWHAAAMMM...some bitch slams into me in the volvo. Of course INSIDE the Volvo...No damage..no injuries. Now I"m just PISSED. Get out survey the damange...worse on hers than mine...I said do you want to call the cops? She said..NOt if YOU don't want too...I didn't I didn't want the $160 a piece ticket and some dumbass endangering a child or something they may come up with. I got the hell out of dodge.
Weird thing....EXACT same Place My husband ran into someone this summer.
The bumper is smashed in, I have a very sore back...(getting less so with wine)....

Employment searching

Wow. I feel so out of the loop. EVERY job just about has their OWN on line application that you have to fill out to apply. This may seem like an easy task. It's not. EACH one takes at least an hour. Between flipping for dates, times places...its WACK.

I applied for a job that is sort of scary. I used to be in "The Field" which is misnomer for Being in downtown BIG CITY with people who have committed CRIMES. Yah. Guess I"m looking to go back to that. I wrote to the Head Honcho that I know, and got a response right away, so maybe I will get an interview.

The reasons I'm looking ....kids are older, I feel Blessed to have been home / worked part time these years. I feel like my younger one will be getting the shaft though. We are not making it!! We ARE...but living beyond paycheck to paycheck.

I understand working with Renters (for the duplex I have) in that they can't come up with say $650 for Security Deposit and Then first months rent at the same time. On the other hand...WHY don't we as Americans have BETTER financial sense?

On Other Hand...Son just got braces to day that is going to cost over $10K. What is up with THAT?. Yikes. I'm all over the place.

Running Blind

I used to work at the Blind school, and never made it one time around the track, with my fingers in the metal loop on the guide wire without opening my eyes...now I feel like...I'm running blind...watching my life wave me goodbye..

Running Blind Lyrics
Artist(Band):Godsmack

Can’t find the answers
I’ve been crawling on my knees
Looking for anything
To keep me from drowning
Promises have been turned to lies
Can’t even be honest inside
I'm running backwards
Watching my life wave me goodbye

Running blind
I’m running blind
Somebody help me see I’m running blind

Searching for nothing
Wondering if I’ll change
I’m trying everything
But everything still stays the same
I thought if I showed you I could fly
Wouldn’t need anyone by my side
I'm running backwards
With broken wings I know I’ll die

Running blind
I’m running blind
Somebody help me see I’m running blind
Running blind
Running blind
Running blind

I can’t find the answers
I’ve been crawling on my knees
Looking for anything
To keep me from drowning
I’m running blind
Running blind
Running blind
Running blind
Running blind
Running blind
Running blind

Happy Birthday to me

Quote for the day...

"Whatever you give a woman, she's going to multiply.
If you give her sperm, she'll give you a baby.
If you give her a house, she'll give you a home.
If you give her groceries, she'll give you a meal.
If you give her a smile, she'll give you her heart.
She multiplies and enlarges what is given to her.'
So - if you give her crap,
you will receive more shit than any one human being can handle."

I am

I am....Taking tests and feeling very low these days...no energy, yet DOING so much...finished my home deck, scrubbed and organized troops to stain it, cut down bushes at my residence, all the rental dealings, no rent "will pay rent", not moving out, moving out and wanting me to cough up all the dollars...
I am...Sad I felt so overwhelmed last week I dropped out of taking classes this semester...Stressed out because Husband is so sick, I am stressed , feeling very blue...NOT GOING TO STAY THE "D" word....
I am
Tired, insomnia kicking in that is NEVER a good sign with me....
I am...in pain...
I am sick of the pregnant cat that is just going to be a pain in the ass
I am Tired of "friends" not returning phone calls...Yes I didn't leave a message the 3 times I called, but you KNOW I called so frekin call me back I have something to say!
I am SICK to DEATH of workers saying they will have something done on X day...and by z day you STILL don't have it done.
I am Sick of being me.

In the news-stupid criminals

The problem with this story is that it simply is NOT that uncommon. While working as a Parole/Probation Agent, Many criminals when released from Jail/Prison did EXACTLY what they were known for...BEING a CRIMINAL.
One guy within TWO hours in Saginaw...was released...tried to get a 7-11 employee to get him a hot dog..and stuffed his shirt with cigarettes, was videotaped, and caught within 2 hour from his release!! it was CRAXZXXXY! We laughed our butts off!!

While in Mt. Pleasant...a guy robbed a bank with the EXACT same type of vehicle that he had before...he stole a car (same make and model) he used in his first crime, robbed a bank (with a DRILL). One way they caught him was he wrapped the drill in duct tape and left a fingerprint on the tape. HOWEVER...the astute Parole Supervising Agent George...says...WWAIIIT a minute...THIS sounds a LOT like my guy xyz....pull out xyz's file and it was almost IDENTICAL. Yep...same guy...same crime...different year. I Think it was the same bank also though I can't remember.

CLOVERDALE, Ind. - A 22-year-old man was back behind bars about 12 hours after he was released from jail, accused of stealing a car and beer and leading police on a high-speed chase.
Darren E. Roberts was released from the Sullivan County Jail Tuesday afternoon after competing his sentence for auto theft.

But Indiana State Police say that early Wednesday morning, Roberts stole a 2004 red Ford Mustang in Linton, then drove to a gas station in Cloverdale where he allegedly stole some beer and fled.

Police chased the red Mustang at speeds of up to 105 mph on Interstate 70, until the car spun out and Roberts surrendered.

He's now being held in the Putnam County Jail without bond on a variety of charges. It's not immediately known if he has an attorney.

My daughter asks: WHat TYpe of Spice are you?

You Are Cilantro

The bad news is that there are some people who can't stand you.

The good news is that most people love you more than anything else in the world.

You are distinct, unusual, fresh, and very controversial. And you wouldn't have it any other way.

MY HUGE FIND!!!

(these are online photos I grabbed, not the stuff I have)

Grace Murray Hopper, FIRST person to make computers understand English.-Yale Educated, Navy Woman to the Core, Retiring once, being recalled to Service.."Rear Admiral Dr. Grace Murray Hopper was a remarkable woman who grandly rose to the challenges of programming the first computers. During her lifetime as a leader in the field of software development concepts, she contributed to the transition from primitive programming techniques to the use of sophisticated compilers. .."
I am so Excited I can BARELY get out my information...
My Friend and I were Garage Sailing...

She found a box of old photos, news article, papers from Washington D.C., the PENTAGON ....and this lady Grace Hopper's pictures, papers etc are included in it. "this Lady" seems SO disrespectful. BECAUSE OF HER...Computers work. She worked for the Early RAND Corporation.
She retired, and was "requested" to return because of computer crisis of the Govt. in making computers integrate. She didn't retire until '88.
We have an original menu of the dinner of one of her special award events!

OK, On TOP of all this...are MANY MANY "Pentagon Released" photos of old war ships, missiles, in PENTAGON envelope!
I'm shallow enough that yes, some sort of similar photos seem to be selling for about 25 dollars each on ebay.
How bout a Picture of the underwater firing of a Polaris A-3 missile from an "unnamed" submarine? GOT IT. http://www.history.navy.mil/photos/sh-usn/usnsh-p/ss2.htm

What was YOUR Birthday Song?

Do you know the #1 song the day you were born?

Go here: http://www.joshhosler.biz/NumberOneInHistory/SelectMonth.htm

MINE was....."It's Now or Never" by Elvis Presley
Lyrics...
It's now or never,
come hold me tight
Kiss me my darling,
be mine tonight
Tomorrow will be too late,
it's now or never
My love won't wait.

When I first saw you
with your smile so tender
My heart was captured,
my soul surrendered
I'd spend a lifetime
waiting for the right time
Now that your near
the time is here at last.

It's now or never,
come hold me tight
Kiss me my darling,
be mine tonight
Tomorrow will be too late,
it's now or never
My love won't wait.

Just like a willow,
we would cry an ocean
If we lost true love
and sweet devotion
Your lips excite me,
let your arms invite me
For who knows when
we'll meet again this way

It's now or never,
come hold me tight
Kiss me my darling,
be mine tonight
Tomorrow will be too late,
it's now or never
My love won't wait.

HEY I TEACH!!

I'm getting ready to do a Teacher Inservice on Love and Logic in the Classroom, Classroom management etc. SO....I ran across a TEACHER QUIZ...and well..thankfully I am POSTING the results because they were So ME!! LOL..don't think for a moment if I were Atilla the Hun or something I'd be posting this!

You have the Fair and Balanced Personality: You are a teacher who students can really depend on to be fair. You are consistent and balanced in your approach. You rarely raise your voice and you almost always treat every student the same. No favortism in your room. Wonderful!
Seriously though...: Fair and balanced teachers make teaching seem easy. They have less disruptions in their classes because students realize that they will be dealt with according to the rules but in a fair and consistent way. If you ever slip up and do something that students perceive as unfair or inconsistent, don't worry - they'll be happy to point it out.
Other Teacher Personality Types: Here is a link to the other teacher personality types. Enjoy!

I'm cheesy

You Are a Chocolate Cheesecake

Rich and greedy, you're attracted to the dark side of life.

Nothing ever quite satisfies your inner beast. And somehow, people find that sexy.

Kitchen aid

Ok..I have to tell you...I visited a KITCHENAID store in Greenville Ohio. Several weeks ago we watched how they REFURBISH their stuff on History channel or something like that. ANYWAY...the Annie Oakley Festival was IN this town...and My hand mixer broke several months ago..and only had one beater. yes. Sucked. Big Time. The NEW one Comes with DOUGH hooks, and Drink stirrerrrer thingy AND a Whisk!!
SO..there was a SALE...BIG time..and well our food processor was from like 1979 or something..a Nasty Hamilton beach number. The NEW one has a smaller Inner Bowl and larger Outer bowl!
SALE..BIG TIME!!!....and Well I caved. I got FREE HEAVY duty Measureing Spoons AND a FREE KA spatula!

I'm back, did you know I was gone?

I flew to HOTLANTA last Friday morning...I went to Flint after my Thursday night class, My flight was at 5:30 a.m....which is in the EARLY morning hours. Yeah. THAT. I stayed Thursday night in a really nice sleazy hotel that made me happy I had a home. Yes, it was a DAYS INN, but scary as all get out....even as a grown woman I appreciate the feeling of..well A SECURE LOCK on the door.
My sisterish is here, Robyn with her kids Grace and Ty. My middle had flown down a week prior, and had a blast. She "wasn't quite ready to see me". How funny. I got picked up at airport, and we just headed straight up 75 to Michigan. OHIO has the COOLEST thing EVAR!! It is a FLIP chart of EVERY EXIT of their highways, which lists hotels, Places to eat, stuff to do etc. It is GREAT.
We detoured to Greenville Ohio to the ANNIE OAKLEY Annie Oakley
Days Festival
Darke Country Fairgrounds
Last Full Weekend of July
July 25, 26, 27,2008
It was delightfully cheesy, and VERY hot. Rob and kids ate Elephant ears, and other sloppy food. There were appropriate Food booths, and tons of Tents of crap for sale.

More later...Exam week this last week of Summer classes...I'm NOT the teacher this time. Bleh

Tony Snow

Tony Snow's Testimony
'Blessings arrive in unexpected packages,
- in my case, cancer.
Those of us with potentially fatal diseases
- and there are millions in America today -
find ourselves in the odd position of coping with our mortality
while trying to fathom God's will.
Although it would be the height of presumption
to declare with confidence 'What It All Means,'
Scripture provides powerful hints and consolations.
The first is that we shouldn't spend too much time
trying to answer the 'why' questions:
Why me?
Why must people suffer?
Why can't someone else get sick?
We can't answer such things,
and the questions themselves
often are designed more to express our anguish
than to solicit an answer.
I don't know why I have cancer, and I don't much care.
It is what it is, a plain and indisputable fact.
Yet even while staring into a mirror darkly,
great and stunning truths began to take shape.
Our maladies define a central feature of our existence:
We are fallen.
We are imperfect.
Our bodies give out.
But, despite this, - or because of it, -
God offers the possibility of salvation and grace.
We don't know how the narrative of our lives will end,
but we get to choose how to use the interval
between now
and the moment we meet our Creator face-to-face.
Second, we need to get past the anxiety.
The mere thought of dying
can send adrenaline flooding through your system.
A dizzy, unfocused panic seizes you.
Your heart thumps; your head swims.
You think of nothingness and swoon.
You fear partings;
you worry about the impact on family and friends.
You fidget and get nowhere.
To regain footing, remember that we were born not into death,
but into life - and that the journey continues
after we have finished our days on this earth.
We accept this on faith,
but that faith is nourished by a conviction
that stirs even within many non-believing hearts
- an institution that the gift of life, once given,
cannot be taken away.
Those who have been stricken
enjoy the special privilege of being able to fight
with their might, main, and faith
to live fully, richly, exuberantly
- no matter how their days may be numbered.
Third, we can open our eyes and hearts.
God relishes surprise.
We want lives of simple, predictable ease,
- smooth, even trails as far as the eye can see, -
but God likes to go off-road.
He provokes us with twists and turns.
He places us in predicaments
that seem to defy our endurance and comprehension
- and yet don't.
By His love and grace, we persevere.
The challenges that make our hearts leap
and stomachs churn
invariably strengthen our faith
and grant measures of wisdom and joy
we would not experience otherwise.
'You Have Been Called'.
Picture yourself in a hospital bed.
The fog of anesthesia has begun to wear away.
A doctor stands at your feet,
a loved one holds your hand at the side.
'It's cancer,' the healer announces.
The natural reaction is to turn to God
and ask him to serve as a cosmic Santa.
'Dear God, make it all go away.
Make everything simpler.'
But another voice whispers: 'You have been called.'
Your quandary has drawn you closer to God,
closer to those you love,
closer to the issues that matter,
- and has dragged into insignificance
the banal concerns
that occupy our 'normal time.'
There's another kind of response,
although usually short-lived,
an inexplicable shudder of excitement
as if a clarifying moment of calamity
has swept away everything trivial and tiny,
and placed before us
the challenge of important questions.
The moment you enter the Valley of the Shadow of Death,
things change.
You discover that Christianity
is not something doughy, passive, pious, and soft.
Faith may be the substance of things hoped for,
the evidence of things not seen.
But it also draws you into a world shorn of fearful caution.
The life of belief teems with thrills, boldness, danger, shocks,
reversals, triumphs, and epiphanies.
Think of Paul, traipsing through the known world
and comtemplating trips
to what must have seemed the antipodes (Spain),
shaking the dust from his sandals,
worrying not about the morrow,
but only about the moment.
There's nothing wilder than a life of humble virtue,
- for it is through selflessness and service
that God wrings from our bodies and spirits
the most we ever could give,
the most we ever could offer,
and the most we ever could do.
Finally, we can let love change everything.
When Jesus was faced with the prospect of cruicifixion,
he grieved not for himself,
but for us.
He cried for Jerusalem before entering the Holy City.
From the Cross, he took on the cumulative burden of human sin and
weakness,
and begged for forgiveness on our behalf.
We get repeated chances
to learn that life is not about us,
that we acquired purpose and satisfaction
by sharing in God's love for others.
Sickness gets us part way there.
It reminds us of our limitations and dependence.
But it also gives us a chance to serve the healthy.
A minister friend of mine observes
that people suffering grave afflictions
often acquire the faith of two people,
while loved ones accept the burden
of two peoples' worries and fears.
'Learning How to Live'.
Most of us have watched friends as they drifted toward God's arms,
not with resignation, but with peace and hope.
In so doing, they have taught us not how to die,
but how to live.
They have emulated Christ
by transmitting the power and authority of life.
I sat by my best friend's bedside a few years ago
as a wasting cancer took him away.
He kept at his table a worn Bible
and a 1928 edition of the Book of Common Prayer.
A shattering grief disabled his family,
many of his old friends, and at least one priest.
Here was an humble and very good guy,
someone who apologized when he winced with pain
because he thought it made his guest uncomfortable.
He restrained his equanimity and good humor
literally until his last conscious moment.
'I'm going to try to beat [this cancer],'
he told me several months before he died.
'But if I don't, I'll see you on the other side.'
His gift was to remind everyone around him
that even though God doesn't promise us tomorrow,
he does promise us eternity
- filled with life and love we cannot comprehend, -
and that one can, in the throes of sickness,
point the rest of us toward timeless truths
that will help us weather future storms.
Through such trials, God bids us to choose:
Do we believe, or do we not?
Will we be bold enough to love,
daring enough to serve,
humble enough to submit,
and strong enough
to acknowledge our limitations?
Can we surrender our concern
in things that don't matter
so that we might devote our remaining days
to things that do?
When our faith flags, He throws reminders in our way.
Think of the prayer warriors in our midst.
They change things,
and those of us
who have been on the receiving end
of their petitions and intercessions
know it.
It is hard to describe,
but there are times
when suddenly the hairs on the back of your neck stand up,
and you feel a surge of the Spirit.
Somehow you just know:
Others have chosen,
when talking to the Author of all creation,
to lift us up,
- to speak of us!
This is love of a very special order.
But so is the ability to sit back
and appreciate the wonder of every created thing.
The mere thought of death somehow makes every blessing vivid,
every happiness more luminious and intense.
We may not know how our contest with sickness will end,
but we have felt the ineluctable touch of God.
What is man that Thou are mindful of him?
We don't know much, but we know this:
No matter where we are,
no matter what we do,
no matter how bleak or frightening our prospects,
each and every one of us who believe each and every day,
lies in the same safe and impregnable place,
in the hollow of God's hand.'

Grade school fashion?

THEcountrydoctorswife.blogspot.com asked about Grade school fashion DAZATARS. Here's one of mine I remember:

WEll....at church we had this program for memorizing stuff, called "AWANA". There was a portion of the night devoted to Games. and..the uniforms were god awful Grey with red piping, and I somehow didn't think I quite...um.."filled" mine out nicely enough. SO I wadded up toilet paper and tucked it in. THEN when I bent over knuckles to the floor as a runner at the starting line does...prepped to RUN when the fake gun went off...and I was CONCENTRATING, when...I LOOKED down at the floor, and saw my enhancement on the floor in front of me. AWWCKK!!! Concentration was broken, I grabbed it..blew my nose and tucked it in my jeans. I don't remember how I got the other side out. To this day, I'm still lopsided.
THIS: is MY kids at AWANA with the ole' marshmallow STICK em tothe board game. HOW did the marshmallow STICK? well..You SPIT on them of course!

An artist new to me...

This taken from a Jewish reader I sometimes peruse:http://www.tbsdeafjewish.org/oct2002news.htm

David Bloch, produced a series of black and white lithographs and color oil paintings upon his retirement in 1975 in Mt. Vernon, NY, to help understand and remember the Holocaust. Among David's many accomplishments include his lithographic work for the Johnson White House and delicate plates depicting the flowers of all the states in the Union. His work includes water colors, wood cuts and oils.

He was a promising young porcelain decorator with a scholarship to the State Academy of Applied Arts in Germany, in 1934, when Jews were expelled from the school. He was arrested and interned in Dachau. When his uncle sent him money to get out in 1940, he fled East and joined the growing refugee community in China. He lived in China for 9 years and there he met and married his wife Lilly. In 1949 they emigrated to New York.

In 1983, several of his lithographs were exhibited during the Temple Community Program,"Crying Hands: Deaf Victims of the Holocaust," featuring German speaker Professor Horst Biesold, a former teacher of the deaf, of blessed memory. David then donated a set of those lithograph prints to TBS: Knock at Midnight, The Last Stop, Reception/Deception, (pictured) The Empty Box (Angel of Death), Never Again and Crying Hand are a few of the titles. They are among our most cherished possessions.

David's works have been displayed across the country. His Holocaust artwork is hard-hitting and emotional as well as extremely thought provoking. He turned a harrowing experience into an aesthetic legacy which carries a stronger message than most other media can, and effectively promotes the constant plea of "never again".
