Money...debt

Trying to climb out of debt, be "FREE". Really. Debt is this generations slavery. Just thinking out loud.


As we work to get more out of debt....remembering to be THANKFUL for what we have, not buy junk, and see the many many blessings we have..and to think BOUNTIFUL thoughts!!

Employment searching

Wow. I feel so out of the loop. EVERY job just about has their OWN on line application that you have to fill out to apply. This may seem like an easy task. It's not. EACH one takes at least an hour. Between flipping for dates, times places...its WACK.

I applied for a job that is sort of scary. I used to be in "The Field" which is misnomer for Being in downtown BIG CITY with people who have committed CRIMES. Yah. Guess I"m looking to go back to that. I wrote to the Head Honcho that I know, and got a response right away, so maybe I will get an interview.

The reasons I'm looking ....kids are older, I feel Blessed to have been home / worked part time these years. I feel like my younger one will be getting the shaft though. We are not making it!! We ARE...but living beyond paycheck to paycheck.

I understand working with Renters (for the duplex I have) in that they can't come up with say $650 for Security Deposit and Then first months rent at the same time. On the other hand...WHY don't we as Americans have BETTER financial sense?

On Other Hand...Son just got braces to day that is going to cost over $10K. What is up with THAT?. Yikes. I'm all over the place.

What we have done just recently to save money:
* Take old shampoo./dishwasher liquid bottles to the Food Co op and have them refilled. One bottle lasts...well ..we haven't worn out a plastic bottle yet. With 3 urchins, I just like that we aren't throwing all the extra plastic in the trash
*We have stopped as much as possible BUYING bottled water. WE use REFILLABLE tap water from home.What ever "special" squeeze bottle they want is fine, it's cheaper than buying for every event.
Three Urchins + Tae Kwon Do+ dance= lots of money literally that is just "peed" away. Tap water=free $$. Sometimes the kids remember to fill bottle 1/3 full and put in freezer, then fill it before we leave= COLD bottled water! I think we save at LEAST ten dollars a week just doing this.
* We take our kids to charter school 40 minutes from home. I pack Snacks for when we pick them up so we aren't Sucked into the "I"m so hungry I"m going to pass out PLEASE stop at McDonald's trap".

*I joined the kids Charter School Board so I would know what is REALLY going on. Benefit: I KNOW what is going on. We RARELY have ANY parents or staff come. How does this affect money??? I am helping Shape MILLIONS in the budget, teacher salaries etc. Readers can save by this tip maybe: Our managing company gives a small kick back to an employee if they don't take the insurance. (Say for instance a spouse had insurance and it covers them). Benefit to school is thousands in Cost, even tho ALL savings doesn't go to employee, it is more cash in their pocket.

* I got addicted to "Propel" water drink. I was buying it at $1.75 a bottle from one of the schools vending machines where I teach Sign Language EVERY day. I found the Powered packets TEN for a dollar, and use them as a TREAT once a week IN my bottled tap water (remember the item above?). And guess what??? Its' JUST FINE!!! LOL.

So...with all this "do gooder" reading I've been doing, prayer, meditation etc...it still begs the question..."Do I fully trust?". Can God do what He says He will, and Can I rest and trust in that?
Yesterday's reading was about the 3 blind men..coming to where Jesus was, and being asked..."Do you BELIEVE I can heal you?"...they said Yes, HE said.."Be it unto you ACCORDING to your Belief".
Well..I've been trying to walk FULLY seeing. EYES WIDE OPEN. Can I believe?

Yesterday, had some fairly devastating news regarding Middle child's teeth/jaw. Major problems, will need surgery eventually, and of course bottom dollars..--over $4000 plus implants at $5000 a piece. She is missing SEVEN teeth total, Ortho thinks he can close the gap so she may only need two implants. CAN I TRUST? Yes, Lord, I can trust.

Over $200 came in mail yesterday from an unexpected Insurance payment.

Today, We got a dreaded letter from MICHIGAN TAX in Lansing. My "hiney" did a cringe as my blog friend Ree would say. I call the number...They have Missing money of ours...to the tune of over $500. HOW COOL IS THAT?

"Money flows to me freely, Money comes in the mail". Help Lord my unbelief.
